Embodied Asana 2: Outside In

Upcoming Dates:

5 March - 2 April 2022 | Saturdays, 10am-1pm

This course takes a deep dive into the four major planes of movement in asana, breaking them down and exploring what it means to integrate a more embodied approach to them in our personal practice, working from the outside, in.

What does it mean to feel at home in a pose? Why do we find resistance in others?

How do we reconcile both the postures that feel like home and the postures that leave us feeling bereft?

What would it mean to centre our own experience of what’s going on in our bodies, minds and breath, over the need to attain or achieve a certain version of a pose?

Together we’ll explore these questions through a combination of asana practice, group discussion, lecture, and journaling. Each session includes a 75 minute asana practice.

Our intention is to refresh, reframe and deepen our attitudes towards (and practice of) key groups of asanas towards one that is grounded in self-compassion, curiosity and care.

It is NOT a requirement to have taken Embodied Asana 1 to attend Embodied Asana 2.
