200 hour yoga teacher training

Overview

Our objective is to train passionate, enthusiastic and compassionate teachers who pride themselves on their commitment to sharing yoga with everybody.

Nourish Yoga training’s 200 hour Teacher Training offers an internationally-recognised qualification (Yoga Alliance), which meets strict syllabus requirements.

You’ll be trained in a contemporary vinyasa flow style, with a non-dogmatic approach that enables you to find your unique teaching style & voice.

Our training groups are small and personal, we endeavour to get to know you, working side-by-side to make your training journey supportive, nourishing and transformative.

Course Outline

Nourish Yoga Training’s 200 hour teacher training is broken down into individual modules, covering topics including asana, pranayama, meditation, philosophy, ethics, sequencing, and anatomy. (See a full list of modules below). Our syllabus is grounded in an evidence-based approach to yoga practice, and we’ve endeavoured to go beyond the standard 200 hour curriculum to include specialist topics such as:

  • Chair & accessible yoga
  • Cultural awareness & appropriation
  • Trauma sensitivity
  • Including pregnant students

We believe there’s no better way to learn than through experience, which means that you’ll be teaching as early as your first few modules.

Teaching practice will become more autonomous and independent as the course progresses, ensuring that you graduate feeling confident.

Flexible Delivery

We know how exciting it can be embarking on teacher training, and also how frustrating it can be if your journey is delayed by an inflexible training schedule.

Our 200 hour teacher training is designed to fit in with your life, your schedule, and your commitments!

Our flexible modules are designed to be taken in almost any order. As long as you complete all modules within 18 months of commencing, you can take our modules in any order that suits you and your lifestyle.

We run flexible weekend streams (Saturday & Sunday afternoons) and a mid-week flexible stream, running Mondays 11am-5pm during school term time. Streams are staggered throughout the year, meaning that there are plenty of opportunities to catch up on modules and craft your own schedule.

You can stay with a whole stream from start to finish, completing the course in 10 months (attending on average 4 weekend afternoons per month). Or you can spread things out and tailor a schedule to suit you, taking up to 18 months. It’s up to you!

In order to graduate and receive your certificate, you must:

  • have paid for the course in full

Upcoming Streams

Cost

Supporter Price: £3225
Standard Price: £2835
Community Price: £2475

We believe in the importance and value of this program, and have chosen to work with a tiered pricing system in order to make it as accessible as possible.

Generally, we would recommend that the Community option is appropriate for students, teachers, NHS & service workers. However, we trust your judgement: you are able to select any of the pricing options below depending on your circumstances. There are no further discounts available (i.e. no student discounts, etc).

All pricing options include a non-refundable £1200 deposit.

Your deposit must be paid to secure your place on the course.

The balance is due either as a lump sum 1 month prior to the course commencing, OR as 10 monthly payments, with the first payment due the month the course commences.

Please note: paying in monthly installments will incur a £100 administration fee which is due along with your deposit.

Included in course fee:
  • training manual
  • access to online resource portal
  • access to our Community Library of practice recordings
What does the payment plan look like?

Supporter Price – £3225
£1200 deposit + £100 admin fee (£1300 total)
£2025 balance
= 10 months x £202.50

Standard Price – £2835
£1200 deposit + £100 admin fee (£1300 total)
£1635 balance
= 10 months x £163.50

Community Price – £2475
£1200 deposit + £100 admin fee (£1300 total)
£1275 balance
= 10 months x £127.50

Why is there an admin fee for payment plans?

Payments plans result in significantly more administration and bookkeeping, meaning we need to charge extra for them. We really agonised about whether this was fair – we have been offering payment plans for 4 years without an admin fee, and feel it is the time to ensure we value this important administrative task by adding a fee.

"Wow, wow, wow! I wanted the training to go on forever, not only do I feel like I've had the most amazing learning experience but I have also had space to make some wonderful connections with likeminded people and truly feel part of a community. The Nourish Yoga Teachers are so kind and understanding and every question I had felt understood. Despite having to move from in person teaching to teaching online there was no loss of fun, laughter, love and learning. I cannot recommend this and other trainings enough, thank you everyone at Nourish! "

"An amazing yoga teacher training programme: you can completely tailor it to your needs as a trainee (busy life, learning speed, etc.). ...Harriet McAtee is an amazing and compassionate lead trainer. The whole team of highly-qualified trainers supports and encourages you throughout your learning journey. Every module was useful: either learning something completely new or revisiting something previously learnt from a different angle."

If you feel the desire, passion and interest to do your yoga teacher training, we want to make that happen for you!

You don’t have to be a spaghetti noodle or acrobat, or have years of experience. The only questions you need to ask yourself are: do I enjoy yoga? do I want to learn more?

We welcome trainees of all ages, shapes, abilities & experience levels.

If you have a history of injuries, that’s ok too! You can get in touch with us to discuss beforehand, but often injuries can be the best teachers.

It sure is! Yoga Alliance International have over 80,000 yoga teachers world wide and are an internationally recognised accreditation body.

We chose to be accredited with Yoga Alliance as our students are international folk and we appreciate their rigour.

After you graduate you will be eligible to register as a Yoga Alliance RYT 200 (Registered Yoga Teacher 200 Hours).

The core texts will be referenced in class and you are required to have a copy.

Core Texts:

Absolutely! There is plenty of opportunity to practice teaching during the course. We’ll also provide you with as much support as you need to start teaching outside of the training hours.

We don’t just spit you out at the end of the training without any ongoing support. We will always welcome emails, calls and questions.

Our sessions all follow roughly the same outline:
90 minutes of yoga practice (i.e. you are led by the trainer), followed by a 30 minute break, then 2.5-3 hrs of lecture, discussion & teaching practice (i.e. you practice teaching) of the topic of the day.

We will follow our Tuition & Refund policy. You will be provided with a fully copy before paying your deposit. Here is an excerpt:

(3) Day Cancellation

An applicant who submits written notice of cancellation within three (3) business days after joining the training, but before commencing the training, is entitled to a refund of all money paid. The refund will be paid within thirty (30) days of receiving the notice of cancellation.

Cancellations After (3) Days But Before Program Start Date

For an applicant requesting cancellation within the first week of training, the tuition retained by the program shall not exceed 10% of the contract price of the course plus £1200 as the non-refundable deposit.

After the First Week and Additional Periods

For a student terminating training after one week but within the first 25% of the course, the tuition retained by the program will equal 25% of the contract price of the course plus £1200 as the non-refundable deposit.

For a student terminating training after completing over 25% but less than 50% of the course, the tuition retained by the program will equal 50% of the contract price of the course plus £1200 as the non-refundable deposit.

A student completing more than 50% of the course is not entitled to a refund of any tuition.

Our in-person training sessions are held in studio at Prana Yoga Oxford, 85 Walton Street, Jericho OX2 6EA.

Online sessions are held via zoom.

Leaving early/arriving late

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, or need to leave more than 15 minutes early, and haven’t already pre-arranged to make up this time, you will need to email Harriet to arrange a make-up session.

Make up sessions & rescheduling

Generally, it is always our preference to try to reschedule trainees to make up sessions in other streams — it is a better learning outcome for trainees and teaching experience for trainers. You can do this as many times as you like, within 18 months and where available. Where scheduling means an exorbitant delay or inconvenience, we arrange a private catch up, and normally charge £55 per hour (which can be split between any trainees taking the make up session).

It’s important that you’re able to commit to the in-person sessions — if you are unable to attend an in-person training session, please notify us at least 1 week in advance, as it is likely there will be waiting lists for in-person sessions. Absence without a reasonable explanation will incur a £60 charge per day, which covers the cost of the venue and the trainer’s time. Naturally if you are ill or self-isolating you will not be charged, but ask you to give us as much notice as possible that you will not be attending.

As long as you complete all the modules in 18 months you can take them in any order.

"[The] teacher training is remarkable. It is inclusive and adaptable. There are options to take the training in many different ways - as an intensive or spread out, and the modules can be taken in any order. This allows a huge degree of flexibility for the trainees. The syllabus is varied and covers everything I would expect in a 200 hour program, plus extras such as teaching special populations. ...All of the teachers are knowledgable, warm and open to questions and challenges. The training has been a transformative experience for me and I am now ready to teach confidently... I can not recommend this training highly enough."
